30th Anniversary Celebration: Illuminate
We celebrated our 30th Anniversary on October 12th at DaVita Headquarters in Downtown Denver and it was a beautiful time of reflection on all that God has done in lives of those we've had the honor of serving, as well as our own. “Illuminate” was our anniversary theme because no matter how dark it gets, hope is always present; it just takes work to uncover, or rather, shine a light on what is not easily visible.

Family Fun Day 2024
We celebrated Family Fun Day with a Neon Glow Party! We had fun brunch stations and a glow room with glow bingo, as well as a graffiti wall. Our activity stations included neon painting, Jenga, and limbo! Needless to say, it was fun!
Educational Pathways
Helping our mentees see new pathways to reach their goals is a critical component of our program. Our education department serves as a resource for tools to coach them on how to overcome challenges, realize their potential, and explore future options.
The Skills 4 Success plan provides ways for mentors to teach, cultivate, and encourage the use of hard and soft skills throughout middle and high school.
Mentees choose from a list of skills to focus on with their mentor. There are a variety of topics to choose from including goal setting, time management, initiative, self-advocacy, basic math, and communication skills.
Mentors are equipped with training and research-based skills sheets to implement during mentoring sessions to cover the chosen skill.
We are committed to offering enrichment opportunities for mentees during the summer. This summer, Save Our Youth is providing stipends to cover the cost of opportunities in the community. In the future, we may explore offering individualized tracks to help mentees work on hard and soft skills they need to succeed academically and in life.
For high school seniors, we offer a year long Senior Experience with a series of workshops, activities, and guest speakers. Our aim is to help prepare for a post-secondary transition to which includes an intentional gap year, trade school, college or career pathway.
To support our mentees as they pursue post-secondary options, we provide them with an advisor to help navigate emotional and academic challenges while making sure students are aware they are not alone in this new transition and phase of life.
Through this program, Save Our Youth also provides financial scholarships for tuition and books to help bridge some of the financial gaps our mentees face. We aim to provide the needed support and resources for them to complete a post-secondary program.
