New Leadership at Save Our Youth

Dear Friends of Save Our Youth,

On behalf of the Save Our Youth Board of Directors, it is a privilege to announce Mr. Russel Dains as the new President & Chief Executive Officer of Save Our Youth. At the beginning of 2018, Luis Villarreal informed us of his desire to pass the baton onto a new leader. After a year-long search and many candidates, Russel was chosen and invited to accept the role as our new President & CEO.

Russel brings with him over 12 years’ experience in the mentoring field, most recently as the Director of Strategy & Partnerships with FRIENDS FIRST, another Denver-based mentoring organization. He excels at organizational leadership, strategic planning, public speaking, youth development, and programmatic excellence. He has developed two mentoring programs which have been implemented in 16 states, and has presented at a variety of youth development conferences, including the National Mentoring Summit in Washington DC and the National Youth At-Risk Conference in Savannah, GA.

Russel moved to Colorado in 2001 to attend Colorado Christian University, where he earned his B.A. in Biblical Studies. He and his wife, Afton, have been married for 11 years and have three children: Cambrei, Caleb and Cailyn.

The Board of Directors would like to invite you, the friends of Save Our Youth, to meet Russel at our upcoming open house on March 7, 2019. Please see the attached invitation for more details.

Thank you for your continued support of Save Our Youth. We are excited for the next 25 years!

Sincerely,

Carl Lansing
Save Our Youth Board Chair
